Brunello di Montalcino

Brunello di Montalcino is Tuscany's great red wine. It is made from 100% Sangiovese grown on the hills around Montalcino, south of Siena, and its rules are among the strictest in Italy. The wine must spend at least two years in wood and cannot be sold until five years after the harvest, six for a Riserva. The result is wine with power, fresh acidity and many years ahead of it.
