Vietti Derthona Timorasso 2021

Vietti Derthona Timorasso 2021 (Vietti Derthona, Colli Tortonesi Timorasso DOC) is Vietti's take on one of Italy's most exciting white grapes. The 2021 has been rated 94 points by both James Suckling and Decanter.

Taste and ageing

Pear, white peach, citrus and acacia, medium-bodied and taut, with fresh acidity and a long, saline finish. It can be enjoyed now and kept for 10 years or more.

Vineyard and winemaking

Timorasso is a local grape from the Colli Tortonesi in eastern Piedmont that almost disappeared but is today regarded as one of Italy's most promising white varieties. Vietti sources it from limestone-rich hills at Monleale, and the wine is fermented in ceramic, large casks and stainless steel before resting on its lees.

About Vietti

Vietti is based in Castiglione Falletto in Barolo and is known for its single-vineyard Barolos. The estate has always had an eye for Piedmont's local grapes, and in 1967 Alfredo Currado helped rescue Arneis. With Derthona, Timorasso has become the next chapter.
