Passopisciaro Contrada PC Chardonnay 2022

Passopisciaro Contrada PC Chardonnay 2022 (Passopisciaro Contrada PC, Terre Siciliane IGT) is one of Etna's most striking white wines. The 2022 has been rated 95 points by James Suckling and 94 by Vinous.

Taste and ageing

Lemon, melon, white pepper and white flowers, full-bodied with electric acidity and a long, saline, stony finish. It can be enjoyed now and kept for 15 years or more.

Vineyard and winemaking

Contrada PC comes from PassoChianche, a narrow, terraced vineyard on Etna's northern slope at 950–1,000 metres. The wine is aged for 16 months in large casks and cement and bottled unfiltered. It is made in small quantities.

About Passopisciaro

Passopisciaro was founded by Andrea Franchetti, the man behind Tenuta di Trinoro in Tuscany, who in the early 2000s was one of the pioneers on Etna's northern slope. He helped make Etna's contrade known and gave each vineyard its own wine.
