Description
Il Marroneto Rosso di Montalcino Ignaccio 2022 (Marroneto Ignaccio, Rosso di Montalcino DOC) is Rosso di Montalcino from one of Montalcino's most acclaimed producers. The 2022 has been rated 93 points by both Vinous and Falstaff.
Taste and ageing
Fresh and elegant, with cherries, redcurrant, wild strawberries and violet, silky tannins and lively acidity. It can be enjoyed now and kept for 10 years or more.
Vineyard and winemaking
The wine is made from the same Sangiovese Grosso grapes as the estate's acclaimed Brunello, from the vineyards just north of the town of Montalcino. It is simply bottled earlier, after 22 months in large casks.
About Il Marroneto
Il Marroneto lies just outside Montalcino's town walls and has been owned by the Mori family since the 1970s. Alessandro Mori makes wine on classic principles, with spontaneous fermentation and large, old casks, and has made the estate one of Brunello's most acclaimed names.
