Description
Gaja Alteni di Brassica Langhe Sauvignon Blanc 2021 (Angelo Gaja Alteni di Brassica, Langhe DOC Sauvignon) is Gaja's Sauvignon Blanc from Piedmont. The 2021 has been rated 95 points by Wine Advocate and 94 by James Suckling.
Taste and ageing
Citrus, white peach, gooseberry and sage, with fresh acidity, saline minerality and a crisp, long finish. It can be enjoyed now and kept for 10 years or more.
Vineyard and winemaking
The grapes come from Gaja's vineyards in Barbaresco and Serralunga d'Alba. The name comes from the small stone walls and yellow flowers in the landscape. The wine is fermented and matured for 6–8 months in stainless steel and small barrels.
About Gaja
Gaja was founded in Barbaresco in 1859 and is one of the names that put Piedmont on the world map. Angelo Gaja was among the first in the Langhe to plant international grapes alongside Nebbiolo, and his white wines are today among Italy's finest.
