Emidio Pepe Trebbiano d'Abruzzo 2019 (Azienda Agricola Emidio Pepe, Trebbiano d'Abruzzo DOC) is one of Italy's most sought-after white wines, from one of the country's most legendary producers. The 2019 has been rated 95 points by Vinous.

Taste and ageing

2019 is poised and intense, with citrus, white flowers, green apples, anise and herbs, fresh acidity and a long, pure finish. It can be enjoyed now and kept for 20 years or more.

Vineyard and winemaking

The vineyards at Torano Nuovo in Abruzzo are farmed biodynamically. The grapes are still crushed by foot, ferment spontaneously and age in cement tanks, and the wine is bottled unfiltered. It is alive and develops in bottle for many years.

About Emidio Pepe

Emidio Pepe began bottling his own wine in 1964 and held on to the old methods while others modernised. Today the estate is run by the family's next generations, and a library of old vintages in the cellar shows how well the wines age.

Serve at 12–14 °C, ideally after a little air in a decanter.
