Description
Antinori Pian delle Vigne Rosso di Montalcino 2024 (Marchesi Antinori Pian delle Vigne Rosso di Montalcino, Rosso di Montalcino DOC) is the younger sibling of Brunello from Antinori's estate in Montalcino.
Taste and ageing
Cherries, spice and fresh acidity with soft tannins. A Sangiovese that is inviting now and will keep for 5 years or more.
Vineyard and winemaking
The wine is 100% Sangiovese from Pian delle Vigne, south of the town of Montalcino. It spends less time in cask than Brunello, so fruit and freshness take centre stage.
About Antinori
The Antinori family has made wine in Tuscany since 1385 and is now in its 26th generation. The house is behind some of Italy's best-known wines, including Tignanello, Guado al Tasso and Cervaro della Sala. Pian delle Vigne joined in 1995 and is the family's estate in Montalcino.
