Description
Allegrini La Poja Corvina Veronese 2018 (Allegrini La Poja, Veronese IGT Corvina) is Allegrini's top wine and one of the Veneto's most acclaimed reds. The 2018 has been rated 98 points by Decanter and 97 by Jane Anson.
Taste and ageing
Deep and velvety, with dark berries, cocoa and spice, firm structure and a long finish. It can be enjoyed now and kept for 20 years or more.
Vineyard and winemaking
La Poja is 100% Corvina Veronese from a small vineyard at the top of the La Grola hill in Valpolicella, where the soil is rich in limestone. The wine is aged in new oak barrels and then rests in bottle before release.
About Allegrini
The Allegrini family is one of Valpolicella's best-known wine families, with roots in Fumane going back several centuries. La Poja was first made in 1983 and was one of the first wines made from pure Corvina.
